For what it's worth, I've been diving DIN 1st stages on my doubles  for 5
years now and 700+ dives, and I NEVER have had  one damaged. Only time the
O-rings are replaced is during the yearly maintenance of the regulators.(
SUPRA  ARCTICs)
When on holiday, I always dive DIN, if they don't provide it, I go
someplace else.
