The tek conference does include diving in its schedule. The conference has
forums and technical sessions Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, then clinics on
Tuesday. The flyer says:

Get Wet
(Tuesday 24 Jan)
C'mon and take a splash at the Hilton Hotel Pool and see some of the latest
tekkie toys. HUD Mask demos. Rebreather demos (see clinic #9). Full face
Mask/COMM demos

Tek.Out in Monterey
(Thurs-Sun 26-29 Jan)
aquaCorps has aranged a series of dive trips in Monterey Bay in conjunction
with Ocean Odyssey Technical Diving Center. Diving will include: nitrox kelp
diving, a deep mix dive at Pt. Lobos Sanctuary, and recreational exposures. For
more information call: Ocean Odyssey at 408.475.DIVE f:408.475.3526

Incidentally, that's Wings Stock's place, for those of you who have heard of
him. So I called. At this point, their schedule is not defined, but they have a
6 person boat and can work trips of any level, as needed. They recommended
making reservations soon to guarantee a spot. I gave them my number, and told
them I'd pass any info I got along, so I hope they contact me when they know
more.

As far as beach diving, I have heard there are some good sites in Monterey, but
I believe this requires reservations with the park. I don't have a number.
Wings should.

If you want a copy of the information and clinic list and all that, the text
has been posted here, and I can send a copy to you if you missed it. The actual
flyer is mailing with the latest aquaCorps. I have a copy of the schedule
scanned in by Greg Ryan (faster to mail something to Australia and have it
jpeg'd up than fix our scanner). I can also uuencode that and send it along. I
tried to make it available on my old machine by anonymous ftp, but the
permissions were a bit twitchy, and this is an aerospace corporation, not given
to allowing anonymous access to its machines. Greg also has an experimental web
page, but I've misplaced the address....
