OOPS! sorry chris, this is a 12-year old here..she doesn't need that
kind of burden.

Yep...Sometimes dishonesty is the greatest service we can do for those
we love.. are you gonna quit because it ISNT risk-free?or are you
gonna make them feel relaxed and confident that you're coming home
tonight?if you thought you WEREN'T coming home, you wouldn't go,
right?

It isn't -- and can't be

I don't think so..IMHO what you should explain is that when daddy
thinks there's a very real PROBABILITY he's gonna hurt himself, he
comes home instead..dwelling on POSSIBILITIES will get you a kid
that's afraid to step outside the house..But i have to be honest here
on the list.. I have no kids, so maybe I'm being naive..

.. After that's been said,

We surely do..Here's a passage from "Invictus" for those of a poetical
bent..

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
            For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
          Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
