Stick with the tables/bottom timer/depth guage for the first fifty dives at
least.  You will need to be really comfortable with these if you plan on ever
entering technical diving, or any form of extended range diving.

Whatever this year's models pros and cons are, next year's will be better and
cheaper!  So waiting is good.  And if you have not taken a Technical Nitrox
course, which will teach you what you need to know to manage multiple gas
mixes, you can always check with the instructor then.
