Seattle, which explains a lot of our "differences". I don't use "silicon
valley lawyers", I use Meateaters.

Whatever you say, mark.

You mean you didn't understand what I wrote? Would you like to try it
again after I give you a chance to go over it again?

You inability with the "printed" word goes a long way towards explaining
some other things, too.

Like why you think a scatter-gun approach works.

I'm curious, though. Perhaps you can help me to improve my communication
skills. What part of the sentence that begins with "Suffice it to say"
isn't clear?

>So you have been sued numerous times, and won. would not those suits then

Uh, yeah. That's, uh, sort of what we've been talking about, mark. I've
been sued numerous times, sometimes frivolously, and sometimes I was
wrong, and I'm telling you that frivolous lawsuits just aren't any big
deal. Except to you lawyer types.

No, there's no time drain. No, there's no expense. Are you telling me
that you have your clients in every hearing?

Jesus. I'm staying out of California. You guys don't have good enough
lawyers.

>Lots of people collect because the insurance company finds it easier to
>settle than to fight. And if you force them to press forward they may NOT
>have to reimburse you if the settlement offer would have been for less.

Lots of people are gay, lots of people commit crimes, and lots of people
smoke, too, mark.

In other words, lots of people do a great number of things that I don't.

>Total Bullshit; real lawyers do this all the time. I see it every day in
>silicon valley, with MILLIONS of dollars changing hands. Litigation in this
>country is unbelievably expensive. It is almost always cheaper to settle.

Actually, mark, the fact that you see it every day doesn't cut any ice
with me, nor does the fact that millions of dollars change hands. Does
the fact that millions of people spent millions of dollars on swamp land
mean that it MUST be good?

I pity the clients who, though having done no wrong, come to you, only to
be advised to settle, when they have so many better options.

I don't care what the differences are between my lawyer and you, mark, or
what the differences are between our states. I'm just glad I found him
first. It sounds like if I had hired you, I'd have had to spend a bunch
of time and a pile of money that just wasn't neccessary, so I really do
think everything worked out for the best.

I'm sure it *IS* best for you to avoid frivolous suits, mark, and I
commend your wisdom in choosing that course.

It is, however, a sure sign that someone is either a lawyer, or doesn't
know what the hell he's doing.
