Nope.
There is no such thing as a "proper" permanent label, because there is no
standard as to what constitutes a "proper" label.
Attempting to maintain the fantasy that there IS a right way to mark
tanks is worse than nothing, because it creates the illusion of the
safety of a standard, where in fact there is none.
It's not time to correct tanks marked with tape, it's time to correct the
idea that it's OK to dive a tank based on it's label, without knowing,
beyond a shadow of a doubt, what's inside.
The tanks you guys are speaking of were certainly not the only un-marked
tanks in the world, according to all your "standards", my tanks are
unmarked, and will remain so.
Counting my buddy, we now have at least 3 separate sets of tanks that are
known to be unmarked (by any agency "standards"), separated by a
continent.
I don't count on labels, because at least 3 chambers of this gun are
loaded.
