I'm interested in some better lights. I've seen the Dive-Rite catalog, but I've got some motocycle battery sized gel cells and a bunch of 3/4" lexan I can build housings out of. Anybody have any experience with using or building this kind of lighting system, with batteries located separately from the lights themselves? What kind of bulbs do you use? I'm rechargeable, but I want more than an hour of burn, so I'm thinking of only 40 watts or so. Still, if you know of big sealed beam headlights that can take pressure, I'm interested. I want to mount the lights on a helmet, I think, better to look into my buddy's eyes. Not sure about back or belly mounting the battery. Anyone ever try clipping a small knapsack or fanny pack on the front of your bc like a kangaroo? I'm tired of dragging gear.
