Thanks. > >Have a great weekend! > >Ken Ken, Large protein intake will be desirable from a dietary point of view, ONLY if you are working out with weights, and/ or, cycling or similar activity-----you need to create a demand by the muscles, for healing-----the eskimos will not accomplich this with their normal activity level, any more than you can say a laborer or a bricklayer, who works hard every day, should be very fit----they may not be fit at all. If weight training and cycling create the demand for healing/recovery, many calories will be consumed in the process of recovery. If you do not do the weight workouts---if you have no "maximum contraction" type muscle work , there will not be a "need" for the large protein intake, and the benefit of this diet will not exist. It is an "athlete's diet", NOT a sedentary person's diet. The discussion on this list is about unfit tech divers, wishing to become fit, by strenuous exercise programs, and diet. If they are serious about wanting change, the high protein diet and intense exercise will help them if they are strict with it). If they are not serious, and NOT STRICT, they might as well ignore all of these discussions, and try some losing proposition like Jenny Craig. Let me say this one more time----the diet and exercise scheme I have been talking about, CAN NOT BE DONE "HALFWAY"..... you must stick exactly to the diet, and you must workout on a seriuos exercise program. This is THE ONLY W AY this type of diet will work. If you did Terry's diet, which assumes intense workouts, and you elect NOT to do the workouts, but stick to the diet anyway----you will NOT lose weight, and you may even GAIN weight. The formula for success here is very exact. The people who are too lazy to do the intense workouts ( including the ones who convince themselves they were too "busy" to do them) should decide right now, they will never become fit, and save themselves from the agony of another fitness failure.
