I have been diving the Oasis II for over a year now. I have had it in 34
degree fresh water at 90 feet with no freeze ups. I have also had it in
Cozumel in 80 degree water at 115 feet. The regulator handled both
environments quite well. The moisture capture system does work to a degree
and helps prevent dry mouth. It does not eleminate it. The only time my
Oasis breathed wet was before I had a cracked housing replaced. Sherwood
absorbed the cost of replacing the housing and has left me a satisfied
customer.

Just two observations. Be aware the Sherwood first stage uses the "Dry Air
Bleed" system. The intent is to prevent water entry into the first stage.
The technique works quite well, but does release a constant stream of tiny
bubbles and makes a faint hissing noise underwater. I have adapted to the
noise but have had several people try to tell me I had a problem. The
second point is to hedge against the reputed Sherwood problem providing
replacement parts. I had the local dive shop provide me with a kit of the
most often needed overhaul and repair parts. It fits in a small plastic
bag and goeswith me wherever I dive. Just-in-case.

I like the regulator and would buy it again. My only concern is that it may
not provide the deeper performance that some of the USD and Scubapro units
are famous for. But that is a different situation with a different solution.

Enjoy.
