As a general rule, regulators with plastic housings give the dryist air. Metal second stages tend to be a bit more moist because the moisture from your exhalation tends to condense on the inside of the regulator, helping to moisten the dry air coming in from the tank. The Oasis takes this principle to a high level of development by strategically placing metal fins inside a plastic second stage. These fins work VERY well, and I have found the inhaled air to be nice and moist. As an aside, we have had LOTS of CO2 retention problems when using the SEA second stage. We have had frequent headache problems on shallow dives, and some near blackouts from CO2 buildup on deep air dives in the 200FT range. We have NOT experienced these problems from Mares, Sherwood, and Poseidon second stages. Its amazing how often a diver complains to me about a headache on a dive boat and when I look he has an SEA second stage or equivalent. Jody Svendsen MiG Technologies
