Members of the WKPP keep calling me complaining that the diving
community seems to believe that there is some great benefit to the WKPP
doing a joint project with the usdct. I would like to hear one reason
why this would be true. Can anyone please give us one?
My personal opinion is that these guys do no real diving, have
never done any in Tallahassee, do not understand it, have no skill or
divers, have no equipment that we would use for this type of diving (
they do not understand it , (so come up with goof ball schemes
reflecting their lack of pactical knowledge), and can give us nothing we
do not have, and can tell us nothing we do not know about how to do
this, esscpecially in light of the obvious fact that we are the only
ones who have done it.
I will not mention my distaste for the personal habits, deameanor,
appearance and condition of these people - it is not necessary. A simple
physical exam to my specifications would eliminate each and every member
of the usdct.
We could use some of Jim King's money, but not for this project,
and we will not be oligated to anyone for anything, nor could King make
the cut to even put bottles in the water - the catfish might scare him.
Let's lok at the facts: WKPP has already done the dives our way. We
have developed the reabreather and have already used it. We already have
the mapper. We already have the scooters. We already know how to do the
deco without sat, and without a chamber - we have to explore the ENTIRE
region, not just the cave that has the glamour story, and we can not
even get our vehicles anywhere near most of this stuff, let alone a
bunch of toys to keep some wimps warm and dry.
Our methods are proven and work - we do it, and then talk about it
later, not tlak about it and necer do it as is the usdct style (the
excuse masters).
All we could possibly do wtih these guys is make ourselves look bad
by assocciation, and lose our access which would eliminate the last line
of defense for these resources.
If anybody in the cave community thinks they can do what we do,
then why have they not ever even come close, and where have they all
been?
WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE USDCT CAN DO FOR US?
We avoid publicity when diving in case something goes wrong - we do
not want the sensationalism of that to cause a call for the activity to
cease. That means the only thing these guys can promise us, publicity ,
is the only thing we do not want. We do not care about the diving feats
- we know we are the best, and we know how tough we are. In fact, I can
show anyone out there what tough is in a swimming pool or on a track - I
do not need to sensationalize diving.If you think you are tough, come
sit in the water with me for fifteen hours and watch me sleep while you
freeze your weenie ass off. We need attention to the resource and water
manaqement, which we are getting for the DEP, and we are doing it with
hard, cold facts , connections, and results, not the bullshit of Dr
Blarney ( never done nothin') Stone, or any of the other wannabees on
his long list of strokes.
Tell me the benefit to WKPP?????????????
