Eddie - drysuit hoods need to be made out of commercial
grade nitrogen-blown neopreme, or else buy about ten of them
at a time and throw them away after deep dives.
Other than that, I have two hoods: one that I wear, and
one that sits in the van. The one I wear has no apron so
that I can pull my drysuit seal to release the gas in an
emergency by pinching behind my head, and the one with the
apron I have brought to me at deco if I tear my neck seal.
No , your neck does not get cold.
( The big , the whole picture, not the phobias )
Only a stroke would have his hood sewn onto his drysuit,
like having feet in your pajamas. I guess they cut them off
and put a new one on every so often.
Get a custom hood, trust me on this one. In my case, as
Bill Gavin pointed out, "anything that fits over his head
could not possible seal around his neck". - G
