Hi Folks
I am really going out on a limb here, I am not yet a tech diver, I
only have my Nitrox course but some further thoughts on this topic that
occured to me....

People that are deep diving are taking a fair amount of gear with
them, all the cylinders + backup etc. Then we add in task loading and
narcosis..
Is it a possibility to leave this all on the surface? Say four divers
go out, two stay on the surface along with all the tanks and a gas managment
console and the two divers use a full-face (AGA, Kirby-morgan) mask with
communication gear go down on surface supply. This means that the gas
decisions are made by a person on the surface that is not task loaded and not
narced. It also means the guys on the surface always know what is happening.
Then they swap.
I know this is not cheap but how does it compare to the current costs
and the suggested costs of rebreathers.(plus the cost of mistakes)We are only
adding the surface supply hose and the console and comms. The tech diving
comunity is adopting commercial gas mixes, why do we not also adopt their
safety practises.
					Terry

P.S. does anybody know what the depth limitations of surface supplied equip
is?
