This table shows that, at room temperature, argon gas will conduct 41cal/sec, air conducts about 60cal/sec, and carbon dioxide gas conducts 35cal/sec (the lower the value - the better the insulator). Has anyone tried CO2 gas to fill a suit? This seems to be a much more economical solution to keeping warm...<< Dennis, you have a humid condition inside your drysuit. CO2 and H2O will form carbon acid(sp?) and cause skin irritation. Do not even use argon mixed with CO2 for welders purposes. Argon is a cheap gas and the best option you have. While several years ago there may have been a controversion about Argon having an ill effect on the decompression, nowadays we have evidence that it is no problem.
