Dennis, the problem is that the drysuit is not perfectly dry.  There is
always going to be some moisture in there.  Water + CO2 makes H2CO3,
carbonic acid.  While a weak acid, not in the same league with, say HCl or
H2SO4, it ain't inert, and you probably don't want it on your drysuit or
your skin.
