As to cleaning and disinfecting rebreathers, when I was trained
by Carmellan Research, we washed and soaked the internals of the
unit with Betadine solution, although CIDEX would also be an
appropriate agent.  Each rebreather was disassembled and
cleaned after every dive, and all parts in the breathing circuit
was disinfected.
