At the risk of being flamed I'll put my $0.02 in.

The group has not defined "mild asthmatic"  Usually an asthmatic first finds
out they are asthmatic by having a series of attacks.  These attacks can
very from a little breathing difficulty that is cured by moving away from
the trigger , to a full blown emergency, that requires hospitalization and
medication.  Unfortunately with asthma you don't always know what will
trigger an attack or how bad the attack will be.

As a diver in a buddy team , you need the full confidence of the health of
your partner.  How many of you would dive with a "mild epileptic"?
