Maybe I gave up too early :-). This is the problem as I experienced it: the stiffness of the transferhose varied with gas pressure inside it. The forces the hose transferred to the tank varied with the pressure. I imagine that if you could keep these variables under control (or null them out) you'd be close to home and you can always check at the end after the fill hose has come off the tank. >Possible procedure: put tank on scale, attach whip, open supply valve to >pressurize it, zero the scale, open the tank valve, fill to desired weight, >then close valves and drain the whip.
