I would have to back up the advice that George gives... These computers are a waste of money. Personally, I traded in my clapped out Aladdin Pro for 2 brand new uwatec bottom timers... bargain!!!! I found when I dived the computer straight, I got bent; but when I did the stops deeper and did only 2/3rds of the Alladin time, I had no problems. The buhlmann stops are too shallow, and the last stop is too long. Others brave enough too follow my deco have had identical results. Ask scott at anscott@ns*.co*.au* and he does not even train (sorry mate). If Dan Volker is still around, he will tell you about how if you train, you can shorten your deco's, if you do deeper stops. I have found the straight desktop buhlmann algorithms exellent guides; I generally exit the water on the runtimes but do the stops much deeper. Weenies, fat slobs, geriatrics, smokers and alcholics will need to add at least 30% safety factors... but should not be diving anyhow. (an example of current stupidity are the computers that "compensate" for the effect of cold water by increasing deco times; they disregard the fact that a serious cold water diver will have proper insulation, and may be WARMER than a tropical diver.) troppo
