My rating system is based on a one-time message only. "Hillbillies" was
indeed a classic because it broke new ground. However, Phil's "Saftey
Dive", when sung to the tune of "Safety Dance" is unbeatable. It's also
longer than "Hillbillies". Cobb gets the prize for highest humor to number
of posts ratio, and Kevin "Heydude" gets the prize for total volume of
humor. You won't like this, but Chris Brown comes in close behind both
Cobb and Kevin on the list, and blows them both away if you include
private messages not posted to the list. Farb is also consistently
high, but it's hard to rate him because sometimes it turns out when you
thought he was trying to be funny, he was actually being serious.

Don't worry, champ - you're still high up there. It's just that you loose
points all the time for unfairness, obnoxiousness, and dirty tricks. I
know, I know, those qualities are what make it funnier for some of the
low-lifes, but my scale is more oriented towards cerebral humor. To be
truely funny, the best parts have to be subtle and go over the heads of
most readers. This does apply to many of yours, but you keep screwing
them up by blatant blasting.

I've had no trouble with Sofnolime whatsoever. It's never been wet in
the 'breather (it can't get wet in the 'breather), but I once threw a
handfull in a bucket of water, transferred it to a plastic bac, and
smelled inside the plastic bag. I was very satisfied that a flooded
cannister would not produce anything obnoxious.

We're going to start using LiOH on our expeditions (6-fold better weight
to dive time ratio, which is important when the plane only allows 40lbs
total baggage per person). That stuff is very nasty when it gets wet, so
I wouldn't recommend it for any rebreather that doesn't have a
bullet-proof system to protect the canister from moisture.
