Subject: Up reels
How many feet of line are needed to tie off at 200', with a 100 lb lift
bag, in a 2 knot and still keep the bag on the surface when you are at 15'?
I think a lot of people on this list tend to overestimate the currents they
dive in. I've done dives in two to three knot measured currents (top to
bottom current) and I think that you would need a really large lift bag and
more line than most reels can hold in order to do a stationary deco. I
agree that staying at a known lat/lon is the best option for safety, but in
certain areas it is impractical or even impossible. - Tony
