Line reel and lift bag do make for a more streamlined configuration, but
are not used in the same manner as an up-reel. When you pop a bag on a line
reel you do not tie the line to the wreck, you simply float beneath it. The
boat follows the bag. Number 36 diamond braided nylon works pretty good.

Has anyone ever used a line reel with lift bag for an up line rather
than a 'jersey' up reel when wreck diving? Up reels are bulky and it
seems that using a line reel would be more streamlined.

If a line reel is used as an up reel then what size line would be
needed?
