It is marketed as an "Aircraft Marker Light". Carl Heinzl already accosted me for laziness for not lookup up details since it really isn't that late here, but (a) I can't find a Performance catalog lying around, my wife throws them away before I order something else out of them, and (b) my gear storage locker is in the bedroom and she's a bitch when awakened unexpectedly. But since there's an interest, and I have my Ikelite on my desk, I'm going to try a sneak attack at the bedroom closet... <time out>... OK, mission accomplished <whew>. This strobe says: Leland Model 60620 ESL II - Aircraft Type Box says "Personal Emergency Strobe Light (ESL II) with flashlight" It does give address as Leland Limited, Inc.; Box 382, Bedminster, NJ 07921 Phone 908-668-1008/Fax 908-668-7716. It is rated to 100 meters, and I've had it to over 160 feet with no problems. But it may be the same gizmo that HeyyDude refers to since it is made in China. This light, like most of Ikelite's small lights, use a compression O-ring seal. In other words, tighten the shit out of 'em. It's not a sliding captive ring like a Pelican light's primary seal (which you don't tighten too much). I've had two Ikelites flood before learning the difference. The flashlight isn't of much use (typical 2-cell AA light) but the strobe is pretty bright with about a 1 Hz cycle rate. The reed switch means one less place to fail, and it's easily operated even with gloves/mitts (though the supplied lanyard isn't, and is rather dinky). Jeff Kell <jeff@ut*.ut*.ed*>
