I retract my "compression seal" statement; after reading the description I had to open it up and have a good look. It is indeed a sliding seal. I agree with David that it's not a bullet-proof, heavy-duty light; but it's good as a marker (and hopefully as an emergency signal) and a dinky but better-than-nothing backup light.
