Speaking of strobes, Performance has one for about $20-30 if I remember correctly. Uses two AA-cells, has a strobe on one end and a backup light on the other. O-rings on both seals, magnetic reed switch, rated to 100m. And it's small - AA batteries mounted side by side and the two light heads, easily stowed in a BC pocket and has a lanyard. Only slightly larger than a marker light (like a Princeton). Works great. You might not want it to mark an anchor line in dark NJ water but it's fine otherwise, and never leaked on me. And it beats a "dedicated" strobe since you can use the flashlight end as a backup in emergencies. Not bad for cheap Performance gear.
