Just plain Fact. >Try to use just plain logic and common sense. >How can you say taking a good working regulator out of your mouth >is safer then keeping the regulator in your mouth? >Again no imagination please. Answer (simple) YES or NO! >Question: >Is it safer to take a good working regulator out of your mouth underwater >or to keep it in your mouth? Well, if Tim Urbanski was practiced in the art of giving up his primary (on the LONG hose) he would most likely have had a LOT less stress on the whole scenario he mentioned. I STILL cringe when I think of having a part of the mouthpiece stuck between my teeth. That's a real world example and a dive that really happened. Practicing and doing it (taking YOUR reg out and donating it) can only enhance your underwater abilities and, it makes stuffing the long hose unnecessary. So, to answer the question that you SHOULD have asked (i.e. is it safer to donate the reg in your mouth or the other reg), it is safer to donate the reg that YOU'RE breathing from. BUt, you worded your question carefully, probably to avoid the real question and scenario. -Carl-
