JimG, Yes, I would Knowingly dive with someone who would not give me the regulator out of there mouth! I would not dive with someone who would not give me there backup regulator on the long hose. The regulator doesn't have to come out of my buddies mouth. Just make sure I can get the regulator from whereever it maybe. You guys "only" want a regulator if it is coming from your buddies mouth. ME! HELL, I don't care where the regulator came from just so long as it works. It can come from around his neck that will be just fine, or anywhere for that matter. I can see you guys now, there you are on your last breathe, a diver see your in need of air, he swims over to give you his backup reg. from around his neck and you say "no thanks I'll wait for someone to come over and give me the regulator out of his mouth". GET REAL!! For the one thousands times "I" or any diver I dive don't have a problem taking the regulator out of their mouth. In fact, on any given dive you will see us with our regulator out of our mouth (at depth) to get a drink of the good cold Great Lakes Water. This is how we quench our thirst.
