There has been a recall of some Scubapro G-500's. The little plastic knob on
the 
vane is defective in SOME, not all, G-500's. The defect causes it to pop out of 
the reg allowing a free flow.

If you have a G-500 or know someone who does, tell them to check with their 
dealer and they can tell by the serial number if it is one of the bad lot.

As far as sucking down twin manifolded 120's in a minute:

First off, you can't open the valve on a single 120 and empty it that fast,
much 
less twins, unless they are near empty already.

Second, why didn't he use the isolator valve and limit his gas loss to one
tank? 
When that tank ran out he could have switched to the other reg. That's what the 
isolation valve is for isn't it?
