george your mind must be slipping - you were the one that asked me the question! not the other way around. you obviously don't know anything about me or you would know that i always take full responsibilities for my actions, & i don't blame others or hide behind a lot of noise to hide anything. there are many aspects of cave diving that have been welcomed in the wreck community with open arms. as a matter of fact almost all of the configurations involving stage bottles & much of the mixed gas diving pretty much came out of the caves. although there was some going on in the deep wreck dives as well. But cave diving is a different animal than wreck diving. Many of the goals are different when you dive you are exploring to see where & how far a cave goes. Speed & distance are the important goals of the mission, then comes documenting it with maps. My goals (& i will only speak of my own personal goals) are to first understand & learn a wreck, then find artifacts if they are there. i use the tank configuration that has satisfied my needs for many years. i like switching over from reg to reg. i am extremely comfortable in the water (i would rather be there than on land). as a matter of fact i enjoy hanging longer than necessary just because i like being their. many of the things i do have been changed by the environment i dive (just as yours influences your gear). you have no need of a Jon line or the Hook. you need troffs & read magazines & books while laying on a rock. you have the luxury of being in water that is always the same temperature, we don't. we have to be prepared to dive in an environment that has sharp edges & can slice us,lines, suites, hoses & any other thing we might be carrying. all this means george is that we developed in some different directions which has resulted in different configurations. yes i have & will agree that you could take a Hogarthian rig & dive a wreck with it, but i like my stuff better (for me). as far as luck goes we are both still here & still diving - i wouldn't say one of us is luckier than the other. just remember as you paint yourself into the corner everyone will see your footprints on the way out! dive on & on hank In a message dated 97-01-16 07:31:04 EST, you write: << Subj: Re: Wahoo-Capt.Janet: Re: For the Record Date: 97-01-16 07:31:04 EST From: gmiiii@in*.co* To: GarlooEnt@ao*.co*, gmiiii@in*.co* CC: techdiver@te*.ne*, wahoo-capt.janet@ju*.co*, wahoo-diving@ju*.co*, wreckdiver@wreckdiver.com Hank - back to the original subject - when you can understand it , you can comment on it - that will not happen anytime soon, and do not expect polite responses from me to your one-dimensional mindless suggestions. You have given no thought to your methods, and the contradictions in your suggestions prove it. You can whine about me all you want - I have a documneted track record and game plan, and have the repsonsablilty for many people at one time. YOUR attitude would not do in a situatin like that, and unlike you, when I make an error in judgement, I take the responsabilty, do not blame it on anyone else in the group, answer for it, and correct it. So far I have been luckier than all of you. You just do not like the fact that people are learning from me and emulating that, while moving away from the bullshit you demonstrate. You have never put a single thing on here Hank that was not either mindless sutpidity or in support of your own petty resentments, like that bogus question you started this with. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Please send messages for the WreckDiver list to: wreckdiver@wreckdiver.com Send subscription and help requests to: wreckdiver-request@wreckdiver.com +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
