I have to ask, is it being suggested that up-lines or jersey reels or whatever are useless? Then what am I supposed to do when I decide to go play on a wreck, then shoot a bag and swim back to the boat after my deco? Drift? What if I don't want to look for the anchor line? What if I get busy, it takes a while to pop a porthole out of a steel hull. And then I'll be too tired to swim with a porthole back to the line. Can't I just send up a bag from where I am? Next someone will suggest you don't need 12 knives on the Virginia (NY wreck, more mono than you ever saw; they make it here).
