He is Richard, Mr. Mount is basing his opinion on the dilema he faces: having sold those worthless pieces of crap to his students, and torn between coming clean and "biting the bullet", or holding on to the story that these things have some useful purpose - unfortuneatley, whatever that is does not involve water. Did you see the post where Mount claims to have tried on a trnsformer pack? What kind of a stroke would dive with something like this?
