Just playing around on easy dives will make one more relaxed but may not produce a more skillfull diver. I challenge your statement that a NY diver with 200 divers is better than a diver with the same experience somewhere else. All divers learn in new environments. Ask me, Billy or Jim Mims how many NY divers have had a rough time in the current in warm clear water south fl.or who get kicked around when cave diving until they are used to it, It is about the same ratio I suspect as the Fl tech divers who visit NY waters. Fact is we are good in the conditions we are familar with. We all need to get checked out so to speak when diving a new to us environment. A diver with 200 quality dives should have enough wisdom to seek advice on new locations and with the experience should be able to adapt to the new skills and conditions rapidly. Granted you cannot go to a non flow sinkhole or a crystal clear water source with no current and be prepared to dive the Doria. Good divers are good divers and usually become informed and prepared those who do not take these steps are experienced but not really good divers. By the way did you get the e mail I sent while you were in Bonaire. I replied to your letter I also posted some stuff on the net. Really sorry so many folks have slammed you on the deep dive. I thought you made it quite clear that it was once and not to be repeated that like many of us you had learned by survival. Glad to see you back. Of course you were bashed by your ongoing battle opponet in NY while you were gone don't know if you checked that material but it was rather pointless and does not require your response. Have you renewed yet hope so Tom
