I suspect that ALL decompressions are associated with SOME intravascular bubble formation. Certainly there is good evidence for detectable bubbles forming after ascent from depths as shallow as 8m [Ikeda T, Okamoto Y, Hashimoto A (1993) Bubble formation and decompression sickness on direct ascent from shallow air saturation diving. Aviation Space & Environmental Medicine 64:121-12 found that all subjects in an 8-m dive presented various amounts of bubbles and that the minimum depth for detectable bubble formation was assessed at around 6 m.] /Rat ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ shelps@ac*.ma*.ad*.ed*.au* Bring in the bottled lightning, a clean tumbler, and a corkscrew.
