Subject: The cavers list
After careful consideration I have decided to shut down the cavers
list.

This past weekend we had a royal mud fest between quite a few people.
This mudfest caused a lot of problems for me at work where the list
was run from.

It also seems that a good friend of mine is upset because of comments
I have personally made about the transpack and neutralite. It seems
that these comments are being taken as personal attacks, and
unfortunatly he has friends in high places at Dive Rite. He has
informed me that he doesn't want to have me "bite the hand that feeds
me", or something to that effect.

I'm going on record here, the last post before removing the list.

I hope that Dive Rite Mfg, inc. takes to heart some of the complaints
with their products here on the net. Rather then saying, "You guys
are trashing us", it would be nice to see them say, "Ok, we think
there might be some valid points, we'll look into it".

I'm glad to see Tom Mount saying that IANTD will look into their
standards and quite possibly revise the deep air & ppO2 issue. I feel
that if the lists (Cavers & Techdiver) helped to contribute to this
decision, then that is good.

I hope that other training agencies follow Tom Mount and IANTD in
these regards. It's still a sad day in America when Mr. Deep Air still
trains people hard to 300'.

I hope that George and WKPP find that perfect piece of tunnel that
connects all the systems in Tally.

I hope every new diver out there learns their own limitations before
they get in over their head.

I hope that every single cave diver reading this message grows to be
an old cave diver. I also hope that each and every cave diver on here
has learned at least one thing about himself from this list.

Peace,

Ken
