Reply to: RE>flares (was Billy B Mix) SkyBlazer had a booth at Scuba95 on the Queen Mary this spring at which they were marketing a waterproof AND PRESSUREPROOF handheld flare for divers. The rep at the booth said that these were mfg'd specifically for diving applications. They looked like a normal Skyblazer flare - about the size of a fat ballpoint. I havn't tried them. -------------------------------------- Date: 10/16/95 7:52 PM To: Gerry Smith From: Wreck Diver Andy Cohen write: >I carry a big safety sausage and a loud whistle when I do open water drift >dives, and both have been very useful when surfacing in heavy swells. Anyone have info on a smoke bomb or >flare that is suitable for diving? A great way to carry small flares with you at depth is inside a safety light housing. If you remove the batteries and bulb assembly from a Mini-C, you have room to store 2 small flares.
