Simon- I addressed the problem of stowing a tank with a pony on the back by keeping a bungy cord in my bc pocket. This way, I can stow my own kit anywhere on the boat. The arguments for not carrying a pony were not compelling enough when I was talking about my life. A 13cuft pony is just the right size for me.
