# I also have bought some DCIEM tables (obtained from Dive Experience, # Williamstown, Melbourne, Australia for any locals) for the same reason as # Dan - reading John Lippman's book (I highly recommend it). I attended a diving medicine seminar this past summer on Treasure Island (San Fransico). It was something of a who's-who in diving medicine. It almost scared me into selling my dive equipment :-) Many diving professionals freely commented on diving tables. Every one of them recommended the DCIEM tables for sports divers. No exception. A few MD's/physiologist/cardiologist specificly advised against use of the PADI tables/wheel, suggesting it was too liberal. I guess the autopsy slides of damaged cerebral/spinal/bone tissue from fatal DCS hits left an impression. I, too, am now using the DCIEM tables.
