Eric, I have also viewed diving and driving to have some relations. I feel the big relationship come at the willingness of the driver to accept the risk of driving. Just like the SCUBA diver must accept the risk of diving. Most of us don't drive the WORLDS MOST SAFEST CAR, but whatever we drive, we have learn to accept the risk of driving it. We know there's a better car out there, do all of us drive it, I don't think so. The reasons may be, I can't afford it, the car isn't sold in my area, I don't need a car like that to do what I'm doing (driving to a dive site and/or work) ...etc. This is the same as some people diving deep on air -vs- diving deep on Tri-Mix. The diver has to be willing to accept the risk. What ever their reason for not diving the worlds most safest mix. The reasons may be, it cost more for TRI-MIX, Tri-mix isn't sold in my area, I'm not certified to dive tri-mix, I don't need tri-mix to do what I'm doing (I've done this dive many time on air)...etc. You can die while driving and you can die while diving. If divers (like drivers) are UNwilling to accept this fact then they should stopdiving and/or driving. YOU MUST BE WILLING TO ACCEPT THE RISK!!! So, In closing divers, please remember: That's your ass on the line out there, you must be able to think for yourself, and accept the risk for what you do. That my $0.02 worth.
