Subject: Re: Back Plates (Plastic or Stainless)
To: samuel frushour <frushour@in*.ed*>, techdiver@terra.net

One manufacturer told me that if I broke an
ABS back plate, he would send me a new one. I
told him to send it to my mother. Dos that
answer your question.

If you are using OMS tanks, you will need
about 9 pounds to make the buoyancy equal to the
104's. If you are using the above with a neopreme
dry suit, you will need another nine for deco.

If you get the Pressed Steel Tanks, you
will only need extra weight if you dive nepreme.

One thing cave divers and wreck divers
should be considering in putting together
this kind of rig is that if you have a low on
gas emergency, you will be one unhapy diver
when you either try to swim out bouncing off
of the ceiling, or you can't hold your stops in
the ocean. Think ahead, buy the right tanks, and
compensate for emergencies. I use a nine pound
molded weight under my backplate (between the
tanks ) when I use OMS tanks. I also use the
TLS 350 , whose buoyancy does not change with
the depth.
