This isn't directed only at you Dan, this is a general message. I'm getting sort of annoyed with this "who are you to talk" attitude. Personally, I don't give a duck's flying copulation (I know, I've used it before, low score...) what diving credentials a person has when they express an opinion about non-diving issues (like their opinions of list ettiquette). Even with regard to diving issues, a lot of people with very little technical diving experience have contributed a lot of very insightful information and opinions to this list over the years. Opinions are what they are -- opinions. If the opinion has to do with diving, and I don't know the person well-enough to trust them* at face value, I won't ask what their diving credentials are, I'll ask what experiences/information led them to draw that conclusion. Well, that's enough of this soap box stuff. Each one of these messages lowers my S/N ratio. My apologies if my diving credentials are insufficient to justify expressing this opinion. Aloha, Rich *P.S. Sorry about the plural pronouns for singular subjects, but I'm tired of typing this "s/he" stuff, and until the english language adopts a non-gender specific singular pronoun, I'm sticking with "they/them/their/etc"
