Gerry, I couldn't help noticing how your post sounded...I'd say you are trying to position yourself as an "intellectual" on this list, fighting for sanity and fine manners. While this image (which also produces images of a "pencil necked geek") may be pleasing to the bone smugglers and pole smokers of the tech diving world, I don't think many of the "real divers" on this list will identify with your affectations. But the real issue here is --who are you to have an opinion...what makes your irritation at George worthy of any of the tech diver list?? Are you one of the nerds who thinks they can understand tech diving by reading books by Tom Mount , and that the mere fact that you have virtually no practical experience is irrelevant in the face of your "superior theoretical knowledge"? One of the saddest things about someone like yourself, is that when you start your lispy little whining about George and his behavior on the list, what you and the others do is prevent more good information from being distributed on the list....In case you have not noticed, George has contributed alot more than insults lately. What have you contributed other than your whining about ettiquette... Instead of reacting with a flame war, how about showing me that I'm full of shit by coming up with some original ideas about training or tech diving that justifies your high opinion of yourself. And whatever you do, please don't expect any credit from diving some baby tech dive like the Doria....Tell us about some really significant wreck or cave dives you've done that really does require advanced skills, and superior knowledge. And let us know how you attained these skills. And if you can't dive, I'll put $500 on George taking you out in the first round at Sheppard's Gym!
