Carl,
I greatly agree with your request. I have been debating the need to
"unsubscribe" to the list do to S/N ratio for a long time. It is
unfortunate that the quality of postings to this list have been
deteriorating at a fast rate over the last year. As a long time member of
the list (early 93) I feel we need to return the type of information
exchange that originally occurred on this list. (e.g., in depth discussion
on DSC pathology, decompression models, IWR, etc.).

Unfortunately information exchanges on open lists usually decline to the
level of the lowest common denominator (experience/knowledge). With the
growth in popularity (trendiness) of "techdiving" (I personally think this
is a very inaccurate description, and most people use it as a "merit Badge"
(equate with PADI speciality)) the level of true knowledge and experience
on this list will continue to decline.

We may need to consider forming a moderated list separate from techdiver to
accomplish the information exchanges we had during 1993 and early 1994.

Folks, we need to seriously evaluate what this list is for!!!
Curt
