It has been my stance for a long time that there are two types of folks:  
Those who know when they are narced and those who don't.  I think that 
George is making a lot of sense here, and that diving while impaired will 
kill sooner or later - if not you then someone who emulates you.

I don't know why you are the only one who knows about the German studies. 
I'd be interested in where, depth/timewise they started noticing
impairment.   My personal belief is that there is some impairment at 
rather shallow depths.  

Of course, if you've performed a single task over and over again, you 
have a greater likelihood of doing it right while impaired - if you are 
driving drunk you are less likely to have an accident driving a familiar 
route.

The point of all this is to limit task loading to something that can be 
dealt with given the impairment, and to limit the impairment level.

George has pointed out other reasons for limiting the Nitrogen loading, 
as well, regardless of your ability/willingness to expose you and your 
buddies to your impairment.
