  Eric , you are right. IANTD refurses to update
and they refuse to even revert back to standards
long recongnized by commercial and military
organizations as safer than what they teach
to RECREATIONAL divers, who are not getting
paid to risk their lives and are not at war. What
is wrong with this picture? Why does Shell Oil
U.K. do it the way I do it, and IANTD does it 
in a manner that  Shell Oil considers to be a safety 
violation? It is time to hear the virtues of this
stupidity, or it's time for IANTD to change.

Unfortunately, I think the big beef people have with IANTD is their
steadfast refusal to update their organaization (esp. in regards to 
deep
air), hence the often-used term "blatant institutionalized strokery".
