> George, IANTD teaches the use of 1.4, 1.5, 1.6 bar PPO2in various circumstances - 1)from the IANTD Tech Nitrox manual, table of partial pressure limits, " 1.4 to 1.5 bar maximum for technical use" 2) from the summary chapter on oxygen use and misuse" in the Trimix manual, ".....in technical diving the PO2 (I guess they mean PPO2) cannot exceed 1.5 ata and the recommended is 1.4 ata". 3)The IANTD advanced manual gives 1.4 as the "with work" limit, 1.5 as the "recommended" limit and 1.6 as the max "no stop limit". 4)The IANTD Advanced nitrox slide set gives 1.6 bar as the PPO2 used for calculating the MOD of a mix. 5)The advanced deep air manual allows that 1.4 to 1.5 is the maximum for technical use, with 1.6 as the maximum limit for _non - technical_ diving and for decompression on techical dives. 6)However, the light at the end of the tunnel lies in the UK IANTD trimix slide set, which I have for review, which recommends 1.4 bar for the working phase of the dive, with 1.6 for deco. There, that all seems pretty straight forward now, doesn't it?????? (to be honest, we do what you do, but don't let on) safe diving.
