I just read the post about getting DAN or Deep Tech to publish a comprehensive report on diving accidents so that we can all learn from the mistakes. I think its a great idea, unfortunately some of the Agencies won't. Here in Australia the Navy is responsible for un-bending most civillian divers especially in the bends capital of Aust.(Sydney)(sorry Jason). For years people have been trying to find out all the details of an accident e.g. Level of trainning, Agency etc. Now before anyone accuses me of agency bashing,I'm dual certified (NAUI/PADI).As an instructor i'd like to know if there is a problem with the course standards of a particular agency, and if they won't fix the problem then I can give them the flick. To my mind if you certify 65% of the divers in the country and they comprise over 90% of DCS cases theres a problem.
