I can understand this, that's why I gave up diving w/o a pony.  I
hated reconfiguring for shallow dives, so I bought a little 13cf
that I could take everywhere (I call it the "shetland" pony :).
My main pony is a 40cf tank, which I pair with a 120cf tank.

Mine is for emergencies.  I fill it with air or 32 depending on
my planned depth.  If I need a deco bottle, it's another bottle.
What do you use for emergencies?  I'd think that a 1st stage
failure at depth would leave you in big trouble using a system
like this?
