Off of 12V I've found the "display" lights (2000 - 3000h life) to be yellow as urine. Now I happened upon some British "Thorn 35mm" 28 Watts narrow beam (narrow rectangular rather) MR11s which are running much hotter that I have tested on my road-bike. (Initially as a test before I try building my own housing and bringing the thing down under water. Thing is I now have come to like 30W narrow beam for bike headlight -0. ) I have them on an current inrush limiter and they have seen 200 hours of use without problem but I'm not sure if they'd last that long in a light with plain on/off switching. MR16 on 14V should last 2000/9 or about 200 hours indicating that your's run off of 14.4 are about as bright as lamps rated for 200 hours (continuous use I guess). john
