Subject: RE: dry suits with attached hoods

I've used a Poseidon suit for a few years now and find it quite
comfortable. In the summer it's a bit hot, but nice in the water.
The hood can pull on your hair if it's anything but short, but it's
not "dry". There is a neck seal and the attached hood just
accumulates exhaust from your reg (unless you poke a hole
in the top of your hood). Because the hood is part of the suit
it is more comfortable than a detached hood.

I recently saw someone diving in what appeared to be a neoprene dry suit
with an attached hood. I am curious about this. If you have experience
with this type of suit could you let me know what you think? I am
wondering about 1) comfort and ease of donning and 2) loss of air through
the hood and "air head".
     thanks Bob Favorite
