I own such a drysuit. Comfort is good although head movements are probably 
somewhat restricted (I never tried a drysuit with separated hood). Donning is
easy. Somesimes air gets trapped in the top of the hood, but this is rather
a good thing as it keeps warm.

I think an attached hood is great for cold water, because thers is much less
water entering under the hood.
